JOB PURPOSE

This role represents the club in its membership growth, retention efforts and in its relationships with internal and external constituencies. The role develops and implements marketing and sales programs, projects and activities designed to increase the sale and processing of memberships, and retention and recognition programs for existing members in accordance with the club's goals, objectives, strategic plans, rules & bylaws. In addition to marketing programs, the role oversees the external and internal communications of the club. The role serves as a membership liaison and ambassador.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains the club's membership database and roster (membership certificate register, resignations, transfers, wait list, address & contact information, roster and website) with the assistance of Accounting.
  • Develops and ensures that established procedures for processing prospective member applications are consistently followed and is directly responsible for administrative processing of member applications and all appropriate established membership administrative reports.
  • Recommends and implements strategies to meet club's membership goals.
  • Processes all requests for- and transfers of membership.
  • Assists prospective members in fulfilling application requirements.
  • Conducts orientation program and/or tours for new members.
  • Promotes club activities and events in a manner that engages the membership.
  • Develops and implements prospective and new member functions.
  • Calls and requests active members to make personal referrals and to assist with recruitment efforts.
  • Develops, implements, manages and monitors member retention strategies.
  • Works as staff liaison with the Membership Committee, working with committee chair on agenda and minutes for the committee.
  • .Works with other committees as needed to assure members' interests are consistently addressed.
  • Assist with recommendations for club member events including development and execution.
  • Follows-up on member referrals, leads from staff, and catering contracts.
  • Organizes production of membership package
  • Tracks the success and overall performance of all membership activities.
  • Maintains a file of club history information (to include exit interviews).
  • Attends management and staff meetings.
  • Conducts trend analysis and offers recommendations and programs accordingly.
  • Responsible for the overall production of the weekly newsletter/email, including but not limited to content collection, establishing priorities & format, editing, sending to designer for printing and distribution.
  • Assist in preparation for Board and Committee meetings including support of the annual Board nominating and election process.
  • Effectively responds to member comments in accordance with club standards, policies and rules; uses ideas, feedback and suggestions to continuously improve member services
  • Develops and manages departmental budget; monitors and takes corrective action as necessary to help assure that budgeted goals are met.
  • Participates in professional development opportunities.
  • Reports all approved new members to Accounting & other pertinent managers/staff to initiate proper administration of their memberships; ensures applications are completely and properly filled out and initiation and transfer fees are collected.
  • Oversees internal messaging (bulletin boards, digital signage) and external (mobile app, website, social media).
  • Develops, manages and updates the club’s marketing plan.
  • Surveys other clubs for information useful in setting and revising club membership policies.
  • Responsible for maintaining confidentiality of all member information.
  • Is present during club operating hours and events to assist in greeting members and guests.
  • Completes other appropriate assignments as instructed by the General Manager.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree highly preferred
  • Minimum of 5years of relevant experience, preferably in a private club.
  • Professional, enthusiastic and engaging personality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to deal effectively with all levels of management, co-workers, members and prospects.
  • Collaborative spirit and willingness to work across departments
  • Strong technical literacy including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Working knowledge of social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
  • Exceptional creativity and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet established guidelines.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends with a typical work week Wednesday-Sunday with Monday and Tuesday off.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work all shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Standing, sitting and lifting, up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to handle indoor and outdoor conditions.
  • May be subject to loud music or noise.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
