Oliver Leigh Group is a Headhunting/Recruitment firm searching for a Director of Membership Sales, Marketing & Communications at an exclusive Private Country Club in the Naples, Florida area. The salary is $100,000 base plus bonus and commission incentives.
Job Summary:
The Director of Communications, Marketing, and Membership Sales is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive communication and marketing strategies to enhance the reputation, engagement, and growth of a prestigious private equity golf club. This role encompasses all internal and external communication efforts, social media management, membership sales, and collaboration with the Board of Directors, Membership Committee, and various club departments. The Director ensures cohesive and effective communication while driving member engagement, satisfaction, and membership growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Communications and Public Relations
- Develop and oversee the execution of internal and external communication strategies to align with the club's goals and brand identity.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all communication with members, prospects, and external audiences.
- Write and edit high-quality content for newsletters, press releases, website updates, and other communications platforms.
- Manage crisis communications, ensuring accurate and timely messaging to protect the club's reputation.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, realtors and community organizations.
Social Media Management
- Create and manage engaging social media campaigns across multiple platforms to increase brand awareness and member engagement.
- Monitor and analyze social media performance, providing insights and recommendations to optimize engagement and reach.
- Ensure all social media content reflects the club's brand, voice, and values.
Marketing and Branding
- Develop and implement marketing initiatives to promote club events, dining, golf, club’s charitable event, and other services to members and prospects.
- Oversee the creation of promotional materials, including flyers, email campaigns, advertisements, and digital content.
- Collaborate with department heads to support their marketing and communication needs, including golf tournaments, culinary experiences, and wellness programs.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to ensure the club remains competitive and innovative in its offerings.
Membership Sales and Engagement
- Develop and execute strategies to attract new members while retaining existing ones, ensuring the club meets its membership sales goals.
- Lead prospective member tours and coordinate membership application processes.
- Analyze membership data to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges in engagement and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the Membership Committee to address member feedback and recommend strategies for continuous improvement.
Collaboration with Governance Bodies
- Work closely with the Board of Directors and Membership Committee to align marketing and communication efforts with the club's strategic vision.
- Prepare and present regular reports on communication, marketing, and membership sales initiatives to the Board.
- Assist in the planning and execution of club governance events and meetings.
Team Leadership and Administration
- Supervise communication and marketing staff, contractors, or consultants as needed.
- Manage the department budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources while achieving objectives.
- Stay updated on best practices, tools, and trends in communication, marketing, and private club management.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or membership sales, preferably in a private club, hospitality, or luxury industry.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools, CRM software, and social media platforms.
o Knowledge in HubSpot, Membersfirst and Jonas are an advantage.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven track record of driving membership growth and engagement.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including members, staff, and governance bodies.
- High degree of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
