Job Description

General Description

Responsible for planning and overseeing all aspects of the Membership Sales Department in order to acquire new members and create satisfied existing members.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Recruit, hire and train effective sales staff. Schedule all departmental staff.
  • Ensure positive image of the club through responsive member communication and knowledge of club programs, services and facilities.
  • Maintain excellent customer service at all times with members and ensure that staff provides the same.
  • Develop annual budget for marketing wages. Monitor financial results versus budget to ensure the club stays within budgeted amounts.
  • Achieve/exceed sales targets. Set and review goals for Sales Assistants.
  • Tour prospects using established procedures practiced at Spare Time Sports Clubs.
  • Play the lead role in achieving/exceeding prospecting goals through phone calling, emailing, member referrals, business outreach and community events, and track all prospects through CRM software.
  • Create, implement and manage marketing plan and be accountable for its control. Create yearly sales promotion plan with the General Manager and the Corporate Sales and Marketing Director, and assist in developing marketing material to support the plan.
  • Ensure positive image of the club through responsive member communication and knowledge of club programs, services and facilities.
  • Attend scheduled appearances and promotions for the club.
  • Support and enforce all club rules and regulations as a staff team member.
  • Prepare for, attend, and participate in meetings with the General Manager, department head meetings, corporate sales meetings, and annual All Staff Meetings and other scheduled meetings.
  • Keep required statistics and records.
  • Responsible for “Manager on Duty” functions as required.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Five-plus years of experience in membership, retail, or related sales field.
  • Minimum of 2 years sales management experience.
  • The ability to manage your time effectively.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • CPR/AED certification within 90 days of hire.
