Des Moines-Winterset Memorials has an immediate opportunity for an experienced and self-motivated Memorial Sales Consultant. This position is based at our Winterset location.


As the Memorial Sales Consultant, you will ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction by working closely with families to understand their needs, answer questions, and assist in designing memorial monuments.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Sell monuments and related products and services to potential and current customers
  • Provide the highest level of service by effectively responding to customers both during and after the sales process
  • Design monuments in industry specific software program
  • Arrange payment terms in accordance with established company guidelines
  • Coordinate with local funeral directors and cemetery staff to manage customer orders
  • Stay informed about available products and communicates options to customers
  • Record sales orders in the electronic order entry/enterprise resource planning (ERP) system

Role requirements:

  • Associate’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of two years of proven sales experience
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and verbal/written communication skills
  • Compassionate demeanor with the ability to maintain composure during stressful situations
  • Demonstrate initiative, attention to detail, and accountability
  • Confidence and professionalism when interacting with customers by phone or in person
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and internet proficiency
  • Experience with ERP software (NetSuite experience preferred)
