Institute for Behavioral Change, Inc. is a growing behavioral health agency serving Charles County, Maryland. As we expand our services, we are seeking skilled and compassionate Mental Health Clinicians/Therapists to join our team. We have a particular need for in-office therapists who specialize in working with children and adolescents, in addition to clinicians who can serve a broader population.

Position Summary
The Mental Health Clinician is responsible for conducting diagnostic evaluations and providing therapeutic services to individuals experiencing mental health challenges, with a strong emphasis on serving children and adolescents in an in-office setting. This role requires a commitment to client-centered care, clinical excellence, and collaboration with healthcare partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and recommend appropriate treatment plans
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment goals and interventions
- Provide individual and/or group therapy, including psychotherapy, supportive counseling, and crisis intervention (short- and long-term), with a focus on child and adolescent populations
- Deliver in-office therapy services for children and adolescents, including family engagement when appropriate
- Collaborate with families, community partners, schools, and external agencies to coordinate care and connect clients with resources
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries
- Deliver high-quality, client-centered services while maintaining professional standards and ethical practices
- Participate in clinical supervision, peer review, and staff meetings as required
- Ensure compliance with all clinical and administrative policies, including HIPAA regulations
- Support a positive team culture aligned with the organization’s mission and values
- Assist leadership with additional responsibilities as needed
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution
- Active Maryland license required (LMSW, LGPC, LCSW-C, or LCPC)
- Minimum of one year of experience providing mental health services in a clinical or community-based setting preferred
- Experience working with children and adolescents strongly preferred
- Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic skills
- Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational abilities
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team
