Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, medication management, and meal preparation
- Monitor patient behavior closely, recognizing signs of distress or escalation and intervening appropriately using crisis intervention techniques
- Maintain detailed medical records and documentation of patient observations, behaviors, and treatment progress in compliance with healthcare standards
- Support behavioral management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors
- Conduct regular patient observation and monitoring to ensure safety and well-being at all times
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs
- Respond swiftly and effectively during psychiatric emergencies or crises, utilizing de-escalation skills to ensure safety for all involved
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification required (or willingness to obtain)
- Medication Aide Certification preferred
- NCI (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention) Certification preferred
- Previous experience in mental health, caregiving, behavioral health, or healthcare preferred
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation preferred
- Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and appropriate boundaries
- Ability to work independently and respond calmly in crisis situations
- Must be dependable, compassionate, and committed to providing quality care
- Familiarity medication administration protocols, and medical records management
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and support clients’ needs
