Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Mental Health Technician to support psychological and neurodevelopmental testing services in an outpatient mental health clinic. This role involves assisting with the delivery of standardized psychological assessments under the direct supervision of a licensed psychologist.
Shift: M-F 3PM-10PM.
Start date: 4.20.2026 (training is M-F 3PM-5PM).
Mental Health Technicians support the testing process by following established protocols, collecting structured data, and maintaining a calm, professional testing environment. This position does not involve independent clinical judgment, diagnosis, therapy, or medication administration.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with the supervised administration of standardized psychological, cognitive, academic, and behavioral assessments in accordance with psychologist direction.
- Follow established testing protocols and procedures to support the accuracy, validity, and reliability of assessment results.
- Observe and document client behavior, engagement, effort, and testing-related observations for clinical review.
- Support intake procedures and structured data collection used in diagnostic evaluations.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain testing materials and assessment environments before and after appointments.
- Provide clear instructions and structured support to clients during testing while maintaining test integrity and standardized conditions.
- Communicate professionally with supervising clinicians regarding testing progress, questions, or notable observations.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation in compliance with HIPAA and clinic policies.
- Maintain strict professional boundaries and confidentiality, including limiting discussion of client information to approved clinical and supervisory channels.
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Psychology/or related field; additional education or experience in psychology, behavioral health, education, or human services preferred
- Prior experience working with children, adolescents, or adults in clinical, educational, or assessment settings is preferred
- Familiarity with basic clinical documentation and data collection practices is a plus
- Demonstrated commitment to ethical conduct and confidentiality.
Professional Scope
Mental Health Technicians work under the direct supervision of a licensed psychologist. All assessment interpretation, diagnostic conclusions, and clinical decision-making are completed by licensed providers.
