Mental Health Therapist

Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately identify mental health conditions.
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions using modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
  • Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure immediate safety and stabilization for clients experiencing acute distress or emergencies.
  • Facilitate specialized counseling services including grief counseling, addiction counseling, PTSD care, gender issues counseling, and behavioral management for clients with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder.
  • Maintain meticulous medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations; ensure accurate coding with CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes for billing purposes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on case management plans; coordinate care with social workers, medical professionals, educators, and support staff.
  • Utilize telehealth platforms effectively to deliver remote therapy sessions while adhering to confidentiality standards and best practices in virtual care.

Experience

  • Proven experience providing psychotherapy in outpatient or inpatient settings with diverse populations.
  • Hands-on experience with crisis intervention techniques and crisis management protocols.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with adults across various clinical environments such as clinics or hospitals.
  • Familiarity with ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for diagnostic evaluation and medical record documentation.
  • Experience conducting intake assessments and utilizing social work or clinical counseling methodologies.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health treatments including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
