Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor to join our mental health and behavioral health team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive therapeutic services to diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. This role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based interventions in outpatient and/or telehealth platforms. This position will play a vital role in supporting individuals through mental health challenges, trauma, behavioral issues, and developmental disabilities, ensuring they receive personalized care that promotes recovery and well-being.
The owner is a psychiatric nurse practitioner as well as a mental health therapist who specializes prescribing to children and adults, with focus in PTSD and EMDR certification. He is highly open to providing supervision, creating a work environment that is friendly, familiar, and community-centered, and is excited to grow a business that truly focuses on healing.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9, ICD-10 coding, and clinical observation.
- Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis.
- Provide individual, group, family, and crisis intervention counseling tailored to client needs.
- Utilize evidence-based techniques including motivational interviewing, behavior management, addiction counseling, grief counseling, PTSD care, and social work principles.
- Manage medical documentation accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient records.
- Coordinate case management activities and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Engage in research activities and data collection to support clinical research initiatives.
- Facilitate telehealth sessions with proficiency in virtual counseling platforms.
- Maintain ongoing professional development by staying current with medical terminology updates and behavioral health best practices.
- Support patients with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders through specialized interventions and special education strategies.
- Address gender issues counseling and provide support for patients experiencing complex mental health concerns related to chronic pain or geriatrics.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field from an accredited institution.
- Valid licensure or certification relevant to the state’s licensing board (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT).
- Proven experience in psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, addiction counseling, or crisis management.
- Experience working with children & family counseling, pediatrics, geriatrics, or individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in inpatient/outpatient settings and via telehealth platforms.
- Knowledge of ICD coding systems (ICD-9/10) for diagnostic evaluation and medical documentation standards.
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to behavioral health and mental health counseling practices.
- Strong skills in crisis intervention and crisis management strategies.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy while maintaining professional boundaries under HIPAA compliance standards.
