Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Therapist to join our team as a W-2 employee. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical behavioral health and cultural competency, with experience working with the LGBTQ+ population. This role involves conducting patient assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing therapy at an outpatient level, as well as giving appropriate referrals as needed. They will ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining accurate medical records. The therapist will work via telehealth and maintain their own schedule. Responsibilities
- Maintain a caseload and market self as needed.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine mental health needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide clinical counseling services to individuals, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies when necessary to ensure patient safety and well-being.
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients as needed.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training to enhance therapeutic skills and maintain licensure.
Skills
- Strong ability in patient assessment and clinical counseling.
- Experience working with individuals in a mental health setting.
- Knowledge of behavioral health principles and practices.
- Familiarity with ICD-10 and DSM-5 coding standards.
- Proficient in maintaining medical records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Excellent crisis intervention skills to effectively manage emergency situations.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
