Mental Health Therapist/Counselor

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate and patient Mental Health Therapist to join our team. General Job Description: Provides support and counseling intervention to children (age 3-11) and their families. Therapist will facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions using CBT, TF-CBT, SFBT, MI techniques, completes psychosocial assessments, treatment plans, safety plans, and goal reviews as required by contract, uses psycho-education with parents/legal guardians to build healthy attachments with their children and increase knowledge of developmental stages/needs of children/adolescents. Serves as an agency representative to community organizations whose primary effects are targeted toward meeting children’s needs. Works closely to identify the appropriate community services for children and their families including educational, social services, legal, medical and other needs. Reports child abuse as required and notifies supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed preferred or Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy (or the equivalent) from an accredited university or college in the field of counseling, social work, psychology, or related human service with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children with serious emotional disturbances, trauma, abuse, and substance use.
  • Experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Motivational Therapy.
  • Clinical experience providing therapeutic services to children, adolescents and adults (families).
  • Case Management experience preferred.
  • Group counseling/Psychoeducation experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written; ability to document clinical notes clearly and accurately. Join us in making a difference in the lives of those we serve through compassionate care and professional expertise.
  • Valid Florida driver's license. Safe driving record. Proof of automobile liability insurance.
  • Experience working with children and families is preferred; familiarity with special education is a plus.
  • Bilingual preferred not required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
