Job Title: MEP Commissioning Engineer – Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing & Fire Fighting (Up to 33kV)

Location: ADNOC Sites, Abu Dhabi, UAE

Experience:

5–8 years (Oil & Gas / ADNOC experience mandatory)

Full-time / Project-based

Job Summary:

The MEP Commissioning Engineer is responsible for end-to-end commissioning of Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, and Telecommunication systems for ADNOC oil & gas facilities. This includes systems up to 33kV GIS switchgear and transformers, with full compliance to ADNOC, NFPA, ASHRAE, SMACNA, IPC, and IEC standards. The role requires strong site execution capability, multidisciplinary coordination, and complete commissioning documentation for final handover.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Electrical Commissioning (Up to 33kV)
  • Commission LV, MV, and HV systems up to 33kV.
  • Pre-commissioning and commissioning of:
  • 33kV / 11kV GIS switchgear
  • Power transformers (oil & dry type)
  • Protection relays, CTs, PTs
  • RMUs, MCCs, PCCs, UPS, DC systems
  • Execute IR, PI, Tan Delta, relay testing, functional testing, and energization.
  • Coordinate HV switching and approvals with client and authorities.
  • HVAC Commissioning
  • Commission HVAC systems including:
  • Chillers, AHUs, FAHUs, FCUs
  • VRF/VRV systems
  • Ventilation, exhaust, and pressurization systems
  • Verify air balancing, water balancing, and system performance.
  • Ensure controls integration with BMS/SCADA.
  • Validate TAB reports, sequences of operation, and performance testing.
  • Plumbing Commissioning
  • Commission domestic water, potable water, and drainage systems.
  • Testing and commissioning of:
  • Water supply pumps and booster systems
  • Storage tanks and piping networks
  • Drainage, sewer, and vent systems
  • Perform hydrostatic tests, flushing, disinfection, and functional checks.
  • Ensure compliance with IPC, UPC, and ADNOC specifications.
  • Fire Fighting & Fire Protection Commissioning
  • Commission fire protection systems including:
  • Fire water pumps (electric & diesel)
  • Sprinkler, hydrant, hose reel, deluge systems
  • Fire extinguishing systems (where applicable)
  • Conduct flow tests, pressure tests, pump performance tests.
  • Coordinate fire alarm interface and cause-and-effect verification.
  • Ensure full compliance with NFPA, ADNOC Fire & Life Safety standards.
  • Support inspections with Civil Defense and client fire teams.
  • Telecommunication & ELV Commissioning
  • Commission telecom and ELV systems:
  • Fiber optic networks (OTDR testing)
  • CCTV, Access Control, PA/GA
  • Structured cabling and data networks
  • Verify system integration with control rooms and SCADA.
  • Documentation & Handover
  • Prepare commissioning procedures, method statements, ITRs.
  • Review vendor FAT/SAT and commissioning reports.
  • Manage punch lists and system handover.
  • Prepare final commissioning dossiers and O&M data.
  • Safety & Coordination
  • Ensure strict compliance with ADNOC HSE requirements.
  • Implement PTW, LOTO, and electrical safety procedures.
  • Coordinate with EPC, vendors, subcontractors, and O&M teams.
  • Participate in walk-downs, inspections, and readiness reviews.

Mandatory Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.

  • 5–8 years MEP commissioning experience in oil & gas projects.
  • Proven experience in Electrical (up to 33kV), HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Fighting.
  • ADNOC project experience in Abu Dhabi.
  • Strong knowledge of IEC, NFPA, ASHRAE, IPC, SMACNA standards.
  • Excellent documentation and coordination skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED6,000.00 - AED8,000.00 per month
