Overview:
The MEP Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all commercial and contractual aspects of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works on construction projects. The role ensures cost control, value optimization, and financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and cost plans for MEP works
- Measure, take-off, and prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for MEP services
- Evaluate tender documents, analyze bids, and prepare tender comparison reports
- Manage procurement of MEP materials, subcontractors, and services
- Monitor project costs, variations, and cash flow related to MEP works
- Prepare and assess interim valuations, payment applications, and final accounts
- Evaluate and negotiate variations, claims, and change orders
- Coordinate with design, project, and site teams to ensure cost-effective solutions
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions
- Prepare cost reports, forecasts, and financial statements for management
- Assist in value engineering and cost-saving initiatives
- Support project close-out, including final accounts and handover documentation
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, ELV)
- Proficiency in measurement and cost control techniques
- Experience with standard forms of contract (FIDIC, NEC, JCT, etc.)
- Good understanding of procurement strategies and subcontract management
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
- Proficient in Excel, cost management software, and AutoCAD
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: AED7,500.00 - AED15,000.00 per month
Experience:
- UAE Construction Industry: 3 years (Required)
- High Rise Construction project in UAE: 1 year (Required)
