MEP Design Engineer

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with strong MEP design experience to support interior fit-out projects across commercial, retail, hospitality, and residential sectors in the UAE. The candidate should be capable of preparing detailed HVAC and MEP designs, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with local authority regulations.

Key ResponsibilitiesMechanical & HVAC Design

• Prepare HVAC system designs, heat-load calculations, ventilation layouts, and equipment selection.
• Develop detailed mechanical drawings, schematics, and shop drawings for fit-out projects.
• Ensure mechanical systems comply with UAE codes (ASHRAE, DCD, DM, etc.).
• Prepare BOQ, technical specifications, and material submittals.

MEP Coordination

• Coordinate mechanical works with electrical, plumbing, and fire-fighting teams.
• Review and interpret architectural, structural, and interior design drawings.
• Ensure seamless integration of MEP systems within interior design layouts.

Project Execution & Site Support

• Conduct site inspections to ensure installation quality and adherence to design.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and site teams for timely execution.
• Resolve technical issues during installation and commissioning stages.

Authorities & Compliance

• Prepare and submit drawings to UAE authorities (DCD, DM, DEWA, etc.).
• Handle authority approvals, NOCs, inspections, and compliance documentation.

Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare project reports, design calculations, and engineering documents.
• Support procurement by providing technical evaluations.
• Maintain updated project files and records.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).
• 5+ years of MEP design experience, specifically in interior fit-out projects in the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC design standards, UAE codes, and local authority regulations.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (preferable), HAP/ CoolCalc, and other design software.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in fire-fighting & plumbing design considered an advantage.
• Knowledge of sustainable/energy-efficient design principles.
• Previous consultancy or fit-out contracting background.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: AED7,000.00 - AED15,000.00 per month
