MEP Design Engineer - Infrastructure / Landscape

Job Summary:

The MEP Design Engineer (Infrastructure & Landscape) is responsible for the design, analysis and development of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for infrastructure and landscape projects. The role involves preparing detailed designs for irrigation systems, pump stations, landscape lighting, drainage and utility networks while ensuring compliance with local authority regulations and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design & Engineering

Prepare detailed MEP designs for infrastructure and landscape projects including:

· Pumping stations and pump selection

· Landscape lighting and LV electrical systems

· Water supply, drainage, and stormwater networks

· Perform design calculations (flow, pressure loss, head calculation, load calculation, voltage drop, etc.)

2. Drawings & Documentation

· Develop schematic Shop drawings

· As-built drawings

· Single Line Diagrams (SLD)

· Prepare material submittals

3. Authority Compliance

· Ensure designs comply with DEWA, Dubai Municipality, RTA, etc.

· Coordinate submissions and approvals with relevant authorities

4. Technical Analysis

· Perform hydraulic calculations for irrigation and water networks

· Conduct electrical load calculations, cable sizing and voltage drop analysis

· Select equipment such as pumps, control panels, lighting fixtures and valves, etc.

Experience and Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 6 – 9 years of experience in MEP works within contracting companies in UAE or GCC.
• Strong exposure to design review, material submittals and authority approvals rather than pure design development.
• Working knowledge of DEWA and Dubai Civil Defence approval processes.
• Good understanding of MEP materials.
• Experience in coordinating with consultants, suppliers and site teams.
• Familiarity with QA/QC processes including MARs, MSTs, ITPs and inspection workflows.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
