Job Opportunity: MEP DESIGNER

Onix Engineering Consultancy – Dubai, UAE

Onix Engineering Consultancy is seeking a talented and detail-oriented MEP Designer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate must have strong design skills in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems, as well as solid experience using industry-standard drafting and BIM tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and prepare MEP design drawings (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) according to project specifications and local authority regulations.
• Produce load calculations, pipe sizing, duct sizing, voltage drop, cable sizing, and related engineering design calculations.
• Prepare coordinated MEP layouts ensuring proper integration between disciplines.
• Review architectural and structural drawings and incorporate MEP requirements.
• Assist in preparing MEP shop drawings, schematic diagrams, and riser diagrams.
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, and other engineering teams for design alignment.
• Ensure compliance with UAE codes, DM, DEWA, DCD, and all relevant authority guidelines.
• Support in preparing BOQs, technical specifications, and design reports.
• Participate in site visits when required to verify design intent and resolve technical issues.
• Maintain organized project files and follow BIM/CAD standards (if applicable).

Knowledge & Expertise (Preferred)

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and other design tools.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, Electrical systems, Drainage, Water supply, Firefighting, and ELV systems.
• Comprehensive knowledge of UAE building codes and regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural & structural drawings.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Minimum 3–5 years experience in MEP design (UAE experience preferred).
