Job Summary

The MEP Draftsman is responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings and shop drawings for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in construction projects. The role involves working closely with engineers, site teams, and consultants to ensure accurate design implementation in compliance with project specifications, standards, and authority requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed MEP shop drawings, coordinated drawings, and as-built drawings using AutoCAD / Revit (if applicable).
  • Develop drawings for HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire fighting, and electrical systems as per design specifications.
  • Coordinate with MEP engineers, architects, and other disciplines to resolve design clashes and ensure proper system integration.
  • Review IFC drawings and convert them into shop drawings for site execution.
  • Modify drawings based on site conditions, consultant comments, and engineering revisions.
  • Assist in BIM coordination and clash detection if required.
  • Ensure all drawings comply with local authority regulations and project standards.
  • Maintain proper documentation and revision control of all drawings.
  • Support site teams with technical clarifications and updated drawings.
  • Prepare material take-off (MTO) when required.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in MEP drafting (construction industry preferred).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit / BIM is an advantage).
  • Good knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
