MEP Electrical Design Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced MEP Electrical Design Engineer responsible for preparing complete electrical designs for residential, commercial, and mixed-use buildings. The role involves electrical load calculations, preparation of load schedules, and ensuring full compliance with UAE authorities’ regulations including DEWA, FEWA, and ADWEA.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical designs for buildings, including:
• Power distribution systems
• Lighting layouts and calculations
• Small power, ELV, and emergency systems
• Earthing and lightning protection systems
• Develop accurate electrical load calculations and load schedules in line with project and authority requirements.
• Design single-line diagrams (SLDs), schematics, and panel schedules.
• Ensure all designs comply with DEWA, FEWA, and ADWEA regulations and relevant IEC/BS standards.
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, and other MEP disciplines.
• Prepare and review authority submission drawings, technical reports, and calculations.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, and technical proposals.
• Provide technical support during construction, testing, and commissioning stages.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in MEP electrical design for buildings.
• Strong knowledge of building load schedules and demand calculations.
• Practical experience with DEWA, FEWA, and ADWEA submission requirements.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and electrical design tools (e.g., Dialux, ETAP, or similar).
• Knowledge of UAE and international electrical codes and standards.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.

Preferred Skills

• UAE consultancy or contractor experience.
• Familiarity with energy-efficient and sustainable building design.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
