MEP Electrical Draughtsman

We are seeking a skilled MEP Electrical Draftsman with strong experience in preparing electrical shop drawings and coordinated MEP drawings for interior fit-out and construction projects. The candidate will be responsible for producing accurate technical drawings, coordinating with other MEP disciplines, and ensuring compliance with UAE authority standards and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings for fit-out and construction projects.
• Develop drawings for lighting layouts, power layouts, cable tray routing, panel schedules, and single line diagrams (SLD).
• Coordinate electrical drawings with mechanical, plumbing, and architectural drawings to avoid clashes.
• Modify and update drawings based on site conditions, consultant comments, and project requirements.
• Ensure drawings comply with DEWA, Dubai Municipality, Civil Defence, and project authority regulations.
• Prepare load schedules, panel board layouts, and cable routing drawings.
• Maintain drawing revisions, document control, and CAD standards within the project.
• Assist engineers in technical documentation and drawing submissions for approvals.
• Support project teams during site execution by providing accurate and updated drawings.
• Prepare as-built drawings upon project completion based on site modifications.

RequirementsEducation

Diploma or Technical Certification in Electrical Engineering, Drafting, or related discipline.

Experience

• 4–7 years of experience as an Electrical Draftsman in the UAE construction or interior fit-out industry.
• Proven experience in preparing MEP electrical shop drawings for commercial, retail, hospitality, or residential projects.
• Experience in authority submission drawings is an advantage.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, cable tray systems, and ELV layouts.
• Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings, BOQ, and technical specifications.
• Understanding of MEP coordination and clash resolution.

Software Skills

• AutoCAD (Mandatory)
• Revit MEP (Preferred)
• Basic knowledge of MS Office
