MEP Engineer

Job Summary

The MEP Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and executing all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works on construction projects. The role includes ensuring that MEP systems are installed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, authority regulations, quality standards, and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

Technical & Site Coordination

  • Supervise and monitor all MEP works on site.
  • Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams.
  • Review MEP drawings, specifications, and shop drawings before execution.
  • Ensure all MEP works are executed as per approved drawings and authority requirements.
  • Coordinate MEP services with architectural, structural, and interior fit-out works.
  • Identify and resolve technical clashes and site issues.
  • Monitor work progress against the approved project schedule.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
  • Attend coordination and progress meetings with clients and consultants.
  • Track procurement and material delivery status for MEP items.
  • Ensure timely completion of MEP activities within budget and project timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with QA/QC procedures and project specifications.
  • Conduct inspections and testing of MEP installations.
  • Review method statements, material submittals, and inspection requests.
  • Ensure proper testing & commissioning procedures are implemented.
  • Coordinate snagging and de-snagging activities prior to handover.
  • Ensure all MEP works comply with HSE requirements and site safety regulations.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings when required.
  • Monitor subcontractors’ compliance with safety procedures.
  • Prepare and review technical submittals and as-built drawings.
  • Coordinate approvals with authorities such as DDA, DM, DEWA, and Civil Defense.
  • Maintain records of inspections, approvals, and site documentation.
  • Support project close-out documentation and handover process.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 4–6 years of UAE construction experience.
  • DEWA certified engineer is preferred.
  • Experience in villas, fit-out, and high-end residential projects preferred.
  • Knowledge of UAE authority regulations and approval procedures.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and project management tools.
  • Strong coordination and communication skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in luxury villas and high-end fit-out projects.
  • Familiarity with DEWA, DCD, DDA, and Dubai Municipality requirements.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and suppliers in UAE projects.
