Job Title: MEP Engineer – Fit-Out Projects

Location: Dubai
Employment Type: Full-Time
Experience Required: [5–6 years] in MEP works for interior fit-out projects


Objective:

The MEP Engineer (Mechanical) for Fit-Out Projects is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems integration within interior fit-out works. The role ensures that all MEP installations are executed in compliance with project specifications, quality standards, timelines, and safety regulations.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Project Coordination:

  • Coordinate MEP activities with architects, civil engineers, and interior designers.
  • Review design drawings, specifications, and BOQs for MEP systems.

2. Technical Oversight:

  • Ensure correct installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire-fighting systems.
  • Review and validate shop drawings, builder’s work drawings, and coordination drawings.

3. Site Supervision:

  • Monitor site works and ensure quality control of MEP installations.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with design and safety standards.

4. Vendor & Contractor Management:

  • Liaise with subcontractors and vendors for timely delivery and execution of MEP systems.
  • Verify contractor performance and adherence to project requirements.

5. Compliance & Safety:

  • Ensure that all MEP works comply with local regulations, standards, and safety codes.
  • Support audits, inspections, and approvals from local authorities (DEWA, Civil Defence, etc. if applicable).

6. Cost & Time Management:

  • Assist in preparing cost estimates, material submittals, and procurement schedules.
  • Monitor MEP work progress and help ensure timely completion in line with project milestones.

7. Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of all MEP activities, testing reports, as-built drawings, and daily progress reports.
  • Prepare and submit method statements and risk assessments.

8. Commissioning & Handover:

  • Lead MEP systems testing, commissioning, and final handover procedures.
  • Support client and consultant during inspections and snagging.

Qualifications & Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline)
  • Minimum [5–6] years of experience in MEP roles within interior fit-out projects
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety systems
  • Familiarity with local authority regulations and approval processes
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and MEP design tools (e.g., Revit, etc.)
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

Preferred:

  • Experience working in fast-paced commercial or retail fit-out environments
  • PMP or equivalent certification (optional but advantageous)
