Job Summary

Electrical Draftsman's primary role is to create detailed electrical drawings, schematics,

wiring diagrams, and layouts using cad software translating engineers' specifications into

accurate technical plans. Key responsibilities include collaborating with engineers and other

professionals to ensure designs meet industry standards and project requirements, revising

drawings based on feedback, maintaining drawing databases, and ensuring material

compliance and documentation accuracy throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

● Drafting Electrical Drawings: Create precise technical drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams,

panel elevations, and wiring diagrams for electrical systems.

● Using CAD Software: Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD, to

produce accurate and readable plans.

● Collaboration: Work closely with electrical engineers, architects, and other team members

to interpret project specifications and technical requirements.

● Design Review & Revision: Review drawings and technical specifications, incorporate

changes based on feedback from senior engineers, and make necessary revisions to designs.

● Standards Compliance: Ensure all drawings and plans adhere to relevant industry standards,

electrical codes, and project specifications.

● Documentation & Record Keeping: Maintain and update accurate drawing databases,

project records, and document control systems.

● Material Compliance: Verify that designs and materials comply with project specifications

and industry best practices.

● CAD Proficiency: Strong skills in CAD software are essential for creating detailed technical

drawings.

● Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail is crucial for accuracy in technical

drawings and specifications.

● Communication: Excellent communication skills are needed to collaborate

effectively with team members.

● Technical Knowledge: A good understanding of electrical systems, drafting

standards, and electrical safety is required.

● Project Management: The ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and handle

technical aspects of design tasks is important.

● Documentation and Reporting:

Manage project documentation and provide progress reports to stakeholders Familiarity

with Electrical codes and safety standards.

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
