MEP Estimation Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced MEP Estimator with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in the UAE. The candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works in accordance with project specifications and tender requirements. The role requires detailed knowledge of local market rates, suppliers, and subcontractors in the UAE.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret project drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
  • Prepare detailed and itemized cost estimates for MEP systems (HVAC, Fire Fighting, Electrical, and Plumbing).
  • Perform quantity take-offs using AutoCAD, Revit, or estimation software (e.g., Planswift, Bluebeam, CCS Candy).
  • Request and evaluate quotations from vendors and subcontractors.
  • Prepare and submit technical and commercial proposals in coordination with the estimation team.
  • Identify and assess risks and opportunities in tenders.
  • Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings as required.
  • Maintain a database of costs, suppliers, and subcontractors relevant to the UAE market.
  • Liaise with procurement and project teams for budget and cost controls.
  • Provide value engineering and cost-saving options during the estimation stage.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering .
  • Minimum 2 years of MEP estimation experience within the UAE construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of UAE construction standards and market pricing.
  • Proficient in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of local authority regulations (DEWA, ADM, DCD, etc.) is an advantage.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with local suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience in both residential and commercial projects is preferred.
  • Team player with a detail-oriented and analytical mindset.
