MEP Estimator (Mechanical Background)

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced MEP Estimator with a mechanical background to join our growing construction and fit-out company. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and at least 2 years of experience in cost estimation for interior fit-out and construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review project drawings, specifications, and scope of work to prepare accurate cost estimates for MEP works.
• Analyze project requirements and identify materials, labor, and time needed.
• Prepare BOQs (Bill of Quantities) and cost breakdowns for tenders and ongoing projects.
• Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors for quotations and pricing.
• Evaluate and compare quotations to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting.
• Update and maintain a database of material prices, labor costs, and suppliers.
• Assist in value engineering and cost-saving strategies.
• Participate in pre- and post-tender meetings as needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an MEP Estimator in the fit-out or construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems and materials.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with estimation software (e.g., Excel, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or similar).
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
