MEP Inspector

Support the inspection and quality assurance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems on construction projects. The ideal candidate will ensure that MEP installations are executed in accordance with approved designs, specifications, and industry standards.


Duties and responsibilities


  • Conduct site inspections of MEP systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical installations.
  • Verify contractor compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, and local codes.
  • Monitor construction activities and report any deviations or non-conformances.
  • Coordinate with contractors and project teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Review MEP shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals.
  • Prepare detailed daily inspection reports and maintain accurate records.
  • Assist in testing, commissioning, and handover processes for MEP systems.
  • Ensure that work is performed in a safe and environmentally compliant manner.
  • Support project engineers with technical site inspections and documentation.


Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering from a recognized university with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Diploma in a related engineering discipline from a recognized institution with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.

  • Solid knowledge of MEP systems and construction practices.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, IEC, ASHRAE, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings and technical documents.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to quality assurance.
  • Good communication and reporting skills.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of AutoCAD or similar tools is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively on-site in coordination with multi-disciplinary teams.
