Job Description

The MEP Procurement Engineer is responsible for managing the procurement process for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) materials and services to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery for construction projects.

Job Responsibility

  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to identify MEP material and service requirements.
  • Source potential suppliers, obtain quotations, and negotiate pricing and terms.
  • Evaluate supplier proposals and make recommendations based on quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
  • Create and manage purchase orders, contracts, and other procurement documents.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of materials and services.
  • Resolve any issues or disputes with suppliers related to quality, delivery, or pricing.
  • Monitor and track procurement activity to identify potential cost savings and process improvements.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, market conditions, and new technologies in MEP procurement.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in procurement, specifically in MEP materials and services.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices and industry standards.
  • Familiarity with MEP systems and construction processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement software.

Skills

Strong knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems

  • Proficiency in procurement processes, including sourcing, negotiating, and vendor management
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations regarding procurement processes
