MEP Procurement Officer

Job Title: MEP Procurement Officer

Location: Dubai, UAE

Employment Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source, identify, and pre-qualify vendors and subcontractors for all MEP materials, equipment, and services according to project specifications and quality standards.
  • Obtain and analyse technical quotations from suppliers and subcontractors ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and UAE authority requirements.
  • Coordinate with MEP engineers and project teams to clarify technical specifications, lead times, and delivery schedules.
  • Prepare and issue purchase requisitions and purchase orders for MEP materials and subcontracted services, ensuring accuracy in technical details, quantities, and delivery terms.
  • Monitor order progress, expediting deliveries to meet project milestones and avoid site delays.
  • Review and verify incoming materials against purchase orders, technical data sheets, and quality standards, reporting any non-conformities to the relevant departments.
  • Maintain up-to-date vendor lists and develop strong supplier relationships to secure competitive pricing and reliable delivery.
  • Assist in resolving procurement-related issues such as delayed shipments, quality discrepancies, and payment disputes.
  • Coordinate with the logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely receipt, proper storage, and inventory control of MEP materials.
  • Track procurement status and provide regular reports on purchase orders, delivery schedules, and vendor performance to the MEP Manager and project teams.
  • Support the preparation of technical submittals by providing material specifications and vendor documentation required for consultant approvals.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, project contractual requirements, and relevant UAE regulations.
  • Collaborate with the finance department to ensure timely invoice processing and payment to suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Participate in periodic procurement meetings and contribute to continuous improvement of the procurement process within the MEP department.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management or Master’s degree in Business.
  • 8 or more years of experience specifically in MEP materials and equipment for building construction projects in the UAE.
