The MEP Project Manager – HVAC is responsible for managing the planning, design, execution, and delivery of all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) services within a project, with a primary focus on HVAC systems. The role involves coordinating multidisciplinary teams, ensuring quality, cost, and time objectives are met, and maintaining client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:Project Planning & Management
- Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of MEP (HVAC-focused) works from design through commissioning.
- Review project specifications, drawings, and BOQs to ensure full understanding of scope and requirements.
- Develop detailed project programs, budgets, and resource plans.
- Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to timelines, cost targets, and quality standards.
Design Coordination
- Coordinate with consultants, architects, and internal design teams for HVAC and MEP system integration.
- Review HVAC design drawings, load calculations, and equipment selections.
- Propose design improvements and value engineering solutions to optimize performance and cost.
Site Supervision & Execution
- Oversee HVAC installation works, testing, and commissioning activities on-site.
- Ensure all MEP installations comply with local codes, international standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, etc.), and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor quality and progress.
Procurement & Vendor Management
- Evaluate and approve technical submittals, material selections, and equipment suppliers.
- Coordinate procurement schedules with the purchasing team to ensure timely delivery of HVAC systems and MEP components.
- Manage subcontractor performance and ensure contractual obligations are met.
Cost & Quality Control
- Track project budgets, variations, and progress claims.
- Implement quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) procedures for all MEP activities.
- Prepare periodic progress and financial reports for management and clients.
Testing, Commissioning & Handover
- Oversee testing and commissioning of HVAC and associated MEP systems.
- Prepare as-built documentation, O&M manuals, and handover reports.
- Ensure smooth transition from project completion to facility operation.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 10 years of experience in managing MEP projects, with strong expertise in HVAC systems.
- Proven experience with large-scale commercial, residential, or industrial projects.
- Strong understanding of international HVAC and MEP standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, MS Project/Primavera, and related project management tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
