Merchandise Planning and Allocation Assistant

Ron Jon, the world's best known surf shop and active lifestyle brand, is currently seeking a Merchandise Planning and Allocation Assistant to join our Corporate Buying team. This position assists in helping develop/ update sales forecasts, inventory plans and allocations to align with store sales goals and trends. The position reports directly to the Merchandise Planning Manager.

This is an hourly, in office, administrative position, 40 hours per week, Monday- Friday, 8am- 5pm. Pay rate commensurate with experience.

Job Functions/Duties:

• Help develop and revise Open-to-Buy plans by category and store
• Assist in developing assortment plans to align with store sales goals and productivity
• Assist in setting merchandise receipt flow by store
• Analyze sales trends and rack productivity at all levels
• Review sales and provide recommendations for Min/Max revisions based on store performance
• Produce end of the month merchandise reports
• Assist Merchandise Planning Manager as needed

Job Requirements:

• College degree in Business, Planning, or Retail with retail experience preferred
• Strong computer skills with proficiency in Excel
• Solid analytical and math skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Team player able to build collaborative partnerships
• Strong organization and time management skills with attention to detail
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
