METAL BUILDING ERECTOR

JB Steel Metal Building Erector

We are seeking a diligent and skilled construction worker to join our team specializing in the erection and installation of pre-engineered metal buildings. The ideal candidate is someone who is motivated, safety-conscious, and eager to develop their career in the construction industry. They should have the ability to work well in a team, possess strong problem-solving skills, and demonstrate meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Erect and install pre-engineered metal buildings in accordance with project specifications and blueprints.
  • Safely and efficiently operate construction equipment and tools.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a secure work environment.
  • Inspect and maintain tools and equipment to confirm optimal working condition.
  • Communicate project progress and potential issues effectively with supervisors and team members.
  • Bolt and weld metal beams and columns together, ensuring proper alignment and level.
  • Utilize cranes and telehandlers to hoist and position metal components accurately.
  • Rig, hoist, and relocate metallic items within the designated work area.
  • Dismantle steelworks for renovation or demolition as required.
  • Cut and weld metal sections using shears, torches, and welding equipment.
  • Install precast concrete components associated with metal structures.
  • Assemble hoisting equipment or rigging, including cables, pulleys, and hooks.

Required Qualifications

  • Commercial Construction Experience
  • Metal Building Installation Experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team and supervisors
  • Ability to travel to out-of-town jobs
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, climb, and work at heights.
  • Must be able to work in various weather conditions.
  • Certifications such as OSHA and other relevant safety certifications are a plus.

Working Conditions

  • Full-time work schedules, typically Monday through Friday with occasional overtime or weekend shifts as needed.
  • Outdoor and indoor job sites, often requiring exposure to varying weather conditions.
  • Physical labor including lifting, carrying, and manual tasks; adherence to safety protocols and use of protective equipment.
  • Collaboration with diverse teams, including skilled tradespeople, supervisors, and project managers.
  • Compliance with OSHA standards and company-specific safety regulations.
  • Regular breaks and access to restroom facilities during shifts.
  • Opportunities for ongoing training and skill development.

Physical & Mental Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials or equipment, often weighing up to 50 pounds or more.
  • Stamina to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders or scaffolding for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to operate tools and machinery safely.
  • Good vision and hearing to identify hazards, follow instructions, and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or snow, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Mental alertness for maintaining safety awareness and following detailed procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address unexpected challenges on the job site.
  • Capacity to handle the stress of deadlines, changing priorities, and physically demanding tasks.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate clearly with supervisors and coworkers.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and adapt to new safety regulations or construction techniques.
