Metal Fabricator

Due to exceptional business growth, A&T Enclosures, based in Dudley, have an excellent opportunity for a Fabricator to join our expanding team.

A&T Enclosures is a small, local business, previously family run, who specialize in manufacturing electrical enclosures. With an overall head count of around 75 employees, we are ever growing and there has never been a more exciting time to join the team!

Responsibilities:

• Fabricate sheet metal electrical enclosures from pre-punched and folded parts using dies, clamps and MIG welding
• Identify and select correct parts for assembly using detailed drawings and specifications
• Ensure care and consideration when handling raw material, adhering to safe working practices and manual handling throughout
• Use appropriate measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specified measurements during the fabrication process
• Select and prepare appropriate sheet materials for fabrication using various tools such as grinders, sanders, scribes or any necessary tools
• Perform welding operations to join sheet metal and components together, ensuring industry standards are maintained
• Assemble fabricated components, fit and align to ensure that the proper functionalities and aesthetics are achieved
• Apply finishing touches such as grinding, linishing or polishing to enhance the appearance of the fabricated components
• Identify and rectify any fabrication defects or discrepancies before being passed on to the next process, to ensure optimal efficiency is maintained and reduced re-works are achieved
• Carry out quality checks on jobs completed to ensure highest possible quality output
• Collaborate with Team Leaders, Engineers and other Fabricators to address any design or fabrication issues tgo ensure a smooth production process

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a heavy duty fabricating environment
• Experience working with design specifications and customer requirements
• Experience working with sheet metal sizing ranging between 1.2mm - 3mm thickness
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment as needed
• Experience with painting, welding, assembly, and fabrication is a plus
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Flexible with additional hours paid at overtime rate
