Overview
Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a Metal Finisher/Sandblaster and play a vital role in preparing metal components for final assembly and finishing. Duties
- Operate sandblasting equipment to clean and finish metal surfaces efficiently and safely.
- Use hand tools, grinders, and polishing machines to smooth rough edges and prepare surfaces for coating or assembly.
- Read blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing specifications to understand finishing requirements.
- Measure finished parts with calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy.
- Handle materials using forklifts or other warehouse equipment safely and responsibly.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Assist in quality control inspections by identifying surface imperfections or inconsistencies that require rework or rejection.
Skills
- Proficiency in blueprint reading, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical drawings.
- Experience operating sandblasting machines, CNC machining centers, CNC lathes, mills, or related manufacturing equipment.
- Knowledge of fabrication processes including welding, stamping presses, press brake machines, and tooling setups.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Fanuc systems, CAM programming, CNC programming, CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
- Ability to use hand tools such as grinders, polishers, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Mechanical aptitude with factory experience in manufacturing environments involving machining or materials handling.
- Strong understanding of quality control standards and safety procedures within a manufacturing setting.
- Capable of operating forklifts or other warehouse handling equipment; certification preferred but not required.
- Basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations related to finishing tasks.
