Are you a plant-based metallurgist who thrives on improving recovery, stabilising circuits, and turning data into operational performance?
IntelliSense.io is seeking a talented and motivated Mining Technology Engineer (Metallurgist) to support our expansion into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as one of our first technical hires in the region.
We are pioneers in Objective AI (ODAI), integrating fundamental physics with AI to characterise the physical world and deliver high-value decision recommendations acting as the brains of the operation. Our technology delivers recommendations to humans as their role-specific co-pilots augment human intelligence or direct to the execution systems (machines) making operations autonomous.
With a global, remote-first workforce and regional hubs in the UK, Australia, Chile, and Ireland, we are now expanding our presence in the Middle East, particularly in Saudi Arabia, a global leader in mining development under Vision 2030.
Lead the implementation of AI-driven optimisation solutions within mineral processing plants across Saudi Arabia.
Work closely with site metallurgists, plant managers, and operations teams to identify performance improvement opportunities.
Analyse plant data to diagnose variability, recovery losses, bottlenecks, and constraint limitations.
Support optimisation of crushing, grinding, flotation, leaching, thickening, and other processing circuits (commodity dependent).
Translate metallurgical testwork and operational insights into digital models and performance improvement strategies.
Help configure and calibrate AI models to reflect real plant behaviour and metallurgical constraints.
Monitor and validate performance improvements in throughput, recovery, reagent consumption, and stability.
Provide training and ongoing technical support to site teams to ensure adoption and sustained value.
Act as the technical bridge between plant operations and IntelliSense.io’s engineering and product teams.
Support business growth through client engagement, technical credibility, and solution expansion.
A degree in Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
3+ years of hands-on plant metallurgical experience in a mining operation.
Plant mass balancing and reconciliation
Recovery optimisation and circuit stability
Metallurgical accounting
Process control fundamentals
Sources of variability in mineral processing operations
Experience working with plant engineers, control systems, or operational data platforms.
Practical knowledge of flotation, leaching, or other plant circuits.
Ability to interpret operational data and translate it into actionable improvements.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage cross-functional teams.
Fluency in English and Arabic is essential.
Willingness to travel regularly to mining sites across Saudi Arabia and internationally. A valid driving licence is required.
Openness to travel to the United Kingdom for onboarding and training.
Competitive salary and benefits package in line with local market standards
Remote-first and flexible working model
Generous paid time off (annual leave and public holidays per Saudi Labour Law)
Paid parental and sick leave
A chance to be part of Saudi Arabia’s mining transformation and contribute to Vision 2030
A fast-paced, supportive international environment with significant career growth opportunities
A chance to be one of the first employees in the Middle East region, supporting and helping to shape a fast growing industrial AI business
If you're excited about the intersection of AI, mining, and industrial innovation, we’d love to hear from you.
Note: This role is open to Saudi nationals and expatriates with the legal right to work in the Kingdom. IntelliSense.io is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity in our teams.
