Position Summary

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing all HR functions within a manufacturing plant. This role ensures compliance with employment laws, company policies, and internal controls while supporting operational leadership and employees across the full employee lifecycle. The HR Manager serves as a trusted advisor to management and a key resource for employees, balancing business needs with fair and consistent people practices.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations and Compliance

  • Lead employee relations activities including investigations, corrective actions, terminations, and conflict resolution
  • Ensure consistent application of company policies, procedures, and the employee handbook
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Partner with legal and corporate HR as needed on sensitive matters

Talent Management and Workforce Support

  • Oversee recruiting, onboarding, and orientation processes in coordination with Talent and Operations
  • Support workforce planning, succession planning, and retention strategies
  • Manage performance management processes including coaching and disciplinary documentation
  • Provide guidance to supervisors and managers on effective people management

HR Operations and Systems

  • Oversee HR processes within UKG including onboarding, job changes, and employee data management
  • Ensure accuracy of employee records and support audits as required
  • Partner with payroll to ensure proper timekeeping, pay practices, and issue resolution
  • Support training initiatives including LMS, compliance training, and leadership development

Culture, Engagement, and Communication

  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture
  • Support employee engagement, morale initiatives, and communication efforts
  • Serve as a visible HR presence on the production floor and within the facility

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field required
  • Fifteen or more years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, employee relations, and HR compliance
  • Experience working with HRIS systems such as UKG preferred
  • Professional HR certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM CP, or SHRM SCP preferred
