The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing all HR functions within a manufacturing plant. This role ensures compliance with employment laws, company policies, and internal controls while supporting operational leadership and employees across the full employee lifecycle. The HR Manager serves as a trusted advisor to management and a key resource for employees, balancing business needs with fair and consistent people practices.
Employee Relations and Compliance
- Lead employee relations activities including investigations, corrective actions, terminations, and conflict resolution
- Ensure consistent application of company policies, procedures, and the employee handbook
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Partner with legal and corporate HR as needed on sensitive matters
Talent Management and Workforce Support
- Oversee recruiting, onboarding, and orientation processes in coordination with Talent and Operations
- Support workforce planning, succession planning, and retention strategies
- Manage performance management processes including coaching and disciplinary documentation
- Provide guidance to supervisors and managers on effective people management
HR Operations and Systems
- Oversee HR processes within UKG including onboarding, job changes, and employee data management
- Ensure accuracy of employee records and support audits as required
- Partner with payroll to ensure proper timekeeping, pay practices, and issue resolution
- Support training initiatives including LMS, compliance training, and leadership development
Culture, Engagement, and Communication
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture
- Support employee engagement, morale initiatives, and communication efforts
- Serve as a visible HR presence on the production floor and within the facility
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field required
- Fifteen or more years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of employment law, employee relations, and HR compliance
- Experience working with HRIS systems such as UKG preferred
- Professional HR certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM CP, or SHRM SCP preferred
- Strong judgment, discretion, and professionalism
- Ability to manage sensitive issues with consistency and fairness
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to balance operational demands with employee advocacy
- Organized, detail oriented, and able to work in a fast paced environment
