General mission
The MHPSS Trainer, holding a university degree in Psychology and with at least five years of relevant experience, is responsible for delivering training on mental health, managing distressed students, handling stress and burnout in school teachers, providing empathetic support, and fostering a trauma-informed care environment. The Trainer will also mentor trainees in the field and report to the Project Manager.
Mission 1: Training
The MHPSS Trainer:
Participate in capacity building activities and ToTs to be delivered for improving the comprehension in the training delivery skills on specific training modules provided by government and donor.
Collaborate closely with the MHPSS Specialist to conduct Training Needs Assessments (TNAs) and review content for new topics (if identified).
Deliver and Facilitation activities to identified government school teachers on the following topics:
1.Understanding and recognizing psychological distress in students, Stress and Burnout in school teachers, providing empathetic emotional support, fostering a trauma-informed care environment, and managing stress and burnout among school teachers.
2.Providing training on Psychological First Aid (PFA) and basic psychosocial support services.
3.Group facilitation and conflict management within training cohorts.
4.Developing referral pathways and coordinating with service providers (hospitals, psychologists, psychiatrists, protection and social services).
5.Monitoring supervision sessions and tracking the quality of support services being provided by the trainees.
Mission 2: Contextualization of Training Content
Together with the MHPSS Specialist, contribute to the contextualization of training materials, design capacity-building content, and support translation into local languages.
Support in Adaptation of training modules provided by the government education department and donor to the local context.
Use training methods approved in the training manual; introduce variations only when necessary and with strong justification.
Mission 3: Field Management
Contribute to identifying training venues and participants for training delivery at various schools, and coordinate with relevant stakeholders.
Liaise with other implementing partners in the field to avoid duplication of efforts.
Mission 4: Report Writing & Data Collection
Demonstrate excellent report writing skills to submit training and supervision session reports.
Be familiar with data collection methods in the field, documentation, and archiving of Means of Verification (MoVs).
