Twin Arbor Labs is a testing laboratory providing various testing services catering to various industries. We offer chemical, physical and microbial testing of beverages, foods, cosmetics and supplements to ensure customer quality and safety.
Twin Arbor Labs is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Microbial Laboratory Technician with a background in microbiology or related life sciences. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of microbiological tests and quality control procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and quality standards. Duties:
-Perform routine microbiological testing, including Aerobic Plate Counts, Yeast and Mold Enumeration, Coliform/E. coli detection, and Pathogen screening.
-Prepare samples for microbiological analysis utilizing proper aseptic techniques and ensure accurate sample traceability.
-Prepare, sterilize, and perform quality control checks on microbiological culture media according to established procedures.
-Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including incubators, autoclaves, biosafety cabinets, and colony counters.
-Accurately record and document all test data, observations, and results in compliance with ISO 17025 quality system requirements.
-Perform environmental monitoring and quality control testing when applicable.
-Maintain laboratory cleanliness, properly dispose of biological waste, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and biosafety practices.
-Contribute to the overall efficiency and productivity of the laboratory while maintaining strict confidentiality of client data.
Requirements:
-Associate or Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, Food Science, Biotechnology, or a related scientific field.
-Proven experience (1+ year preferred, but not required) working in a microbiology laboratory setting.
-Familiarity with aseptic techniques, microbial enumeration methods, and basic laboratory instrumentation.
-Experience working under quality systems such as ISO/IEC 17025, GMP, or GLP is highly desirable.
-Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
-Ability to follow detailed written instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs). --Ability to meet physical requirements, including standing for extended periods, lifting up to 30 lbs, and wearing required PPE.
-Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
