MICROBIOLOGY, IMMUNOLOGY & MOLECULAR - ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

Job title: Assistant Professor

Field/ Specialization: Immunology and Molecular Microbiology

Roles and Responsibility:

1. Teaching

· Teaching number of classes and seminars in his/her field of study to students in the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, making use of innovative and modern educational methods.

· Following up and continually being aware of the up-to-date scientific research and developments in the scientific specialization he/she teaches in the department or scientific program to ensure that quality assurance standards are met in the instructional process.

· Complying with quality assurance standards and procedures for college and university education, as well as providing the necessary data and information for quality assurance requirements.

· Suggesting scientific research topics for graduate students and supervising their scientific thesis.

· Accomplishing the academic tasks assigned to him/her by the department or the scientific program including (writing examination questions, correcting examinations, and monitoring examinations with advisory support to students) and maintaining the highest instructional standards.

2. Research

· Conducting research in accordance with international publication standards aimed at the development requirements of the GCC countries.

· Take the initiative in making grant proposals for funding both locally and externally to support research projects and achieve their scientific goals.

· Publish the results of his/her research in referred scientific journals through scientific conferences and proper media.

· Has wide experience in the field of refereed scientific research published in high-ranking international scientific journals and is an expert in his/her scientific specialization at regional and international levels.

· Take the initiative and collaborate with other faculty members in the department, college or university in joint research projects.

· Building joint research links with academic institutions at local, regional and international levels.

3. Community Service

· Organizing training workshops in his/her scientific field through a center as part of the community service provided by the university.

· Providing advisory, consultative and scientific services to specialized organizations locally, regionally and internationally.

· Participating as members in professional associations and administrative committees in the public/private sectors.

4. Administrative and other activities

· Contribute to the academic and administrative responsibilities required to support the efforts of the college, the department, the program and the university through membership in major committees of the university.

Qualifications:

· PhD in Immunology, Medical Microbiology, or Molecular Microbiology.

· Postdoctoral or equivalent research/teaching experience preferred.

· Strong publication record.

· Experience in university teaching.

· Proficiency in immunological and molecular techniques.

· Research focus in AMR, molecular diagnostics, and immunopathology.

· Experience in grant writing and postgraduate supervision.

Familiarity with bioinformatics and data analysis tools.
