Microbiology Laboratory Technician

Growing independent laboratory in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking a Microbiology Laboratory Technician I. We are searching for a highly-detailed and energetic individual with good communication skills. Must be able to work in a fast-paced & team-oriented production environment yet be independent as well.

A four-year degree in Microbiology, Biology or related-science is required.

This is an entry-level position.

The ideal candidate will have:

• An expectation going into this job for working 1-2 years
• The availability to work 1-2 Saturdays per month
• General laboratory knowledge and skills
• Knowledge and understanding of aseptic technique
• Ability to follow company procedures and industry compendia methods
• Excellent organization, prioritization, and time management skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
• Good decision-making, negotiating, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Microbial testing of products to ensure quality and consumer safety
• General laboratory and equipment maintenance
• Proper documentation and reporting of laboratory results
• Media making and general laboratory upkeep

This is a full-time position with paid medical benefits.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 per hour
