Job Description: Microsoft Cloud Architect
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Microsoft Cloud Architect to design, implement, and manage secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud solutions for our enterprise environment. The architect will play a critical role in defining cloud strategies, ensuring alignment with business goals, and guiding technical teams in adopting best practices for Microsoft cloud technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Cloud Strategy & Design
- Define and document cloud architecture blueprints using Microsoft Azure services.
- Assess existing IT infrastructure and recommend cloud migration or modernization approaches.
- Develop cost-optimized, scalable, and secure cloud solutions aligned with business needs.
- Implementation & Integration
- Lead the design and deployment of Microsoft Azure-based solutions, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
- Oversee migration of applications, databases, and services to Azure.
- Integrate Azure with on-premise systems, Microsoft 365, and third-party applications.
- Governance, Security & Compliance
- Establish cloud governance frameworks, policies, and security standards.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
- Design identity and access management using Azure Active Directory and related services.
- Operations & Optimization
- Monitor cloud environments for performance, availability, and security.
- Drive cost optimization strategies (e.g., reserved instances, rightsizing, scaling).
- Provide technical guidance to engineering and operations teams.
- Collaboration & Leadership
- Act as the primary cloud advisor to business stakeholders and IT leadership.
- Conduct workshops, knowledge transfer, and training sessions.
- Mentor technical staff on Azure best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 7+ years of IT experience with at least 3+ years in cloud architecture roles.
- Proven expertise in Microsoft Azure services (compute, networking, storage, security, DevOps).
- Strong understanding of hybrid cloud environments and integration with on-prem infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with cloud migration and modernization projects.
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Power Platform, and Dynamics 365 is an advantage.
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) using ARM templates, Terraform, or Bicep.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Certifications
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305).
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Security Engineer Associate.
- Other relevant certifications in cloud security, DevOps, or enterprise architecture.
