Microsoft Dynamics 365 Retail Consultant

Responsible for implementing, configuring, and optimizing Microsoft Dynamics 365 solutions for retail operations. This role involves working closely with clients to understand their business processes, translate requirements into D365 Retail & Commerce functionalities, and ensure successful deployment and adoption of the system. The consultant will provide expert guidance on best practices in retail processes leveraging the D365 platform, contribute to solution design, configuration, testing, training, and post-implementation support


Functional Responsibilities

  • Conduct workshops and interviews with business stakeholders to understand their current retail business processes, challenges, and future requirements.
  • Analyze and document "as-is" and "to-be" processes, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement using D365 Retail.
  • Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications for D365 Retail solutions.
  • Design and propose comprehensive D365 Retail solutions covering areas such as Point of Sale (POS), merchandising, inventory management, pricing and promotions, customer loyalty, e-commerce integration, and retail back-office operations.
  • Setup D365 Retail & Commerce related modules and functionalities to meet business needs.
  • Develop functional design documents (FDDs) and other project documentation.
  • Lead or participate in the full lifecycle implementation of D365 Retail projects.
  • Support data migration activities from legacy systems to D365 Retail.
  • Conduct system integration testing (SIT) and support user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Work closely with development teams for customizations, integrations, and reports, ensuring they align with functional requirements.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for end-users and key client personnel on D365 Retail & Commerce functionalities.
  • Provide post-go-live support, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring smooth operation of the system.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for D365 Retail, providing guidance and support to business users.
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with clients, understanding their evolving needs.
  • Provide expert advice and strategic recommendations to clients on leveraging D365 Retail & Commerce for business transformation.
  • Stay up to date with the latest features, releases, and best practices in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Retail & Commerce.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and system enhancements post-implementation.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot 3rd party integrated systems such as SAP, or etc.
  • System upgrades study, analyse, testing, and implementation.
  • Communication with external partner as a technical advisor
  • Communicate with Microsoft for support in case it requires.




Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Retail Management, or a related field.
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 certifications relevant to Retail & Commerce (e.g., MB-300, MB-320, MB-910, MB-500) are highly advantageous.



Experience:

  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in implementing, configuring, and supporting Microsoft Dynamics AX/365, with a strong focus specifically on the Retail & Commerce module.
  • Proven experience across multiple full lifecycle D365 Retail implementation projects.
  • In-depth understanding of retail business processes, including sales, inventory, supply chain, merchandising, loyalty, and e-commerce.
  • Experience with D365 Commerce capabilities (e.g., POS, Call Center, E-commerce storefront).
  • Experience with integrations between D365 Retail & Commerce and other systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, payment gateways, e-commerce platforms).
  • Experience working in a consulting environment is highly preferred.
  • Experience in the Saudi Arabian retail market and understanding of local business practices is a plus.


Skills:

  • Deep understanding of D365 Retail & Commerce, Production Information Management, and Inventory Management functionalities and best practices.
  • Excellent ability to analyze complex business problems, design effective solutions, and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong consulting skills, including the ability to lead workshops, deliver presentations, and manage client expectations.
  • Ability to manage tasks, adhere to project timelines, and contribute to overall project success.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Meticulous in configuration, documentation, and testing.
  • Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in Arabic is highly desirable for roles in Saudi Arabia.
