About SynapseMX

At SynapseMX, we’re bridging the gap between deep aviation expertise and Silicon Valley innovation. We build the quality assurance backbone for complex operational domains where "getting it right" is mission-critical. Our software is used by aircraft maintenance teams to replace paper-driven, fragmented QA processes with a single authoritative digital platform. We are a company built by airline maintenance experts - our software has been used by multiple air carriers around the world, and we’re preparing for deployment across U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard units.

Our flagship platform, TIMS, is an advanced, real-time coordination platform designed to enhance aircraft readiness at both strategic and operational levels. By unifying inspection oversight and work centers into a single, holistic interface, we enable smarter, faster decision-making that improves aircraft availability.

If you want to solve real-world problems, you belong here.

We are lean, fast, and focused. We don’t have layers of middle management, and we don’t move at a "corporate" pace. At the same time, we have DoD contracts that require a structured delivery - which means contractually-defined (but reasonable) schedules, (moderate) time tracking, and a final product that is reviewed and accepted by the U.S. Air Force. Joining us means:

  • Zero Red Tape:
You report to the CEO and own your workstreams.
  • Peer Accountability: In a team of 12, your code, your logic, and your work ethic are visible. We don't glorify long hours, but we expect focused time on the work.
  • High Autonomy, High Responsibility: You’ll be handed roughly-defined problems requiring collaboration with the team to figure out the "how," build the "what," and ensure it works in the field.

The Challenge: Building the Future of Aviation Ops

We aren't looking for a bug ticket-solver; we're looking for someone who can own feature delivery end-to-end, collaborating with Senior Engineers on architectural direction and with Juniors on implementation. You’ll be building:

  • AI-Powered Analytics: Creating the intelligence that helps maintenance teams respond to trends before they evolve into much larger problems.
  • Scenario Modeling: Building the tools that allow leadership to create and adapt inspection plans, then quickly understand the impact of changes.
  • Dashboards: Helping customers easily make sense of their data to make rapid, informed decisions.
  • Integrations: Building the APIs and supporting UIs as our platform continues to grow.
  • UX/UI Improvements: Dialing in existing application workflows with our product designer.

Is this you?

  • Your Background: 4+ years of full-stack development experience with a bachelor’s degree in CS, engineering, math, or a scientific discipline; OR 6+ years of professional experience building software in lieu of degree.
  • You Ship: You have a track record of taking features from requirements to production in SaaS environments, and you take pride in what you deliver.
  • You Own Your Work: You understand the objective, ask the right questions, and drive it forward.
  • You Value “Operational Weight”: You’d rather solve a problem that improves the everyday work life of a maintainer than optimize an ad-click algorithm.
  • You Thrive in Ambiguity: You can take a conversation with a stakeholder, create a requirements document, and turn it into a working feature.
  • You’re a Team Player: You recognize that building in isolation is problematic, and you’re willing to learn, share, and pair as required.

To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. Preferred Skills

  • Experience building and shipping data pipelines, analytics features, or reporting infrastructure in SaaS applications
  • Hands-on experience implementing AI/ML feature development - wiring up LLMs, RAG frameworks, or anomaly detection against real data
  • Strong written communication - you will contribute to government deliverables and technical documentation alongside our technical writer
  • Experience with IaC tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar
  • Experience working with in-stream data processing using RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, or similar technologies
  • Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes, including cloud-natives like ECS
  • Front-end experience in JavaScript frameworks. Prior EmberJS strongly preferred.
  • Back-end experience in NodeJS with ORM frameworks. Prior FeathersJS strongly preferred.
  • Database experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or similar database technologies.
  • Comfort operating in or around regulated software environments (SOC 2, HIPAA, etc). Prior experience with CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, RMF, FedRAMP environments is a plus
