Position Overview

Archbishop Mitty High School (AMHS) invites applications for a Mid-Senior Level Graphic Designer. Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, we are a Catholic, co-educational college preparatory that graduates 450 intellectually competent, just, faith-filled, respectful leaders each year. Reporting to the Director of Creative Services, this role will support creative projects from concept through final production. We are seeking a strategic thinker and hands-on designer who can work independently while collaborating cross-functionally across departments.

The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud design and photography applications, working knowledge of print production, and photo editing skills. Experience designing for a wide range of applications, including print materials, apparel, merchandise, signage, and publications, is essential. We are looking for a dependable designer who understands both the creative and technical aspects of visual communications and who thrives in a mission-driven educational environment dedicated to academic excellence, character formation, and faith development. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Contribute to creative projects from concept development through final production
• Design and produce:
• Custom posters and promotional materials
• Brochures, magazines, and multi-page publications
• Admissions and advancement materials
• Event invitations and collateral
• Apparel and branded merchandise
• Campus signage and large-format graphics
• Prepare press-ready, production-accurate files, including bleeds, color modes, preflight checks, and vendor specifications
• Coordinate with print, apparel, and merchandise vendors throughout the production process
• Execute light photo editing, retouching, and color correction
• Provide support during on-campus photo shoots, including light setup, staging assistance, and coordination as needed
• Collaborate with admissions, advancement, athletics, administration, campus ministry, and student activities departments
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining deadlines, brand standards, and production quality
• Support the exploration and integration of emerging design tools, technologies, and industry trends

Desired Experience and Qualifications

• Demonstrated awareness, experience, and competence in working with a diverse socioeconomic, multi-racial, and multicultural population
• Minimum of 5 years of professional graphic design experience
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud for Mac:
• InDesign
• Illustrator
• Photoshop
• Lightroom
• Strong background in print production and file preparation
• Experience with apparel design, merchandise production, and large-format signage
• Experience managing projects independently from start to finish
• Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
• Strong typography, layout, and publication design skills
• Experience coordinating with vendors and external partners
• Detail-oriented, adaptable, and solution-focused in a dynamic school environment
• Proficiency in Google Drive and Google programs
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively across departments
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Clear and professional communication abilities

Position details

This is an exempt, full-time, 12-month position located on campus. Salary range is $80,000 - $95,000 based on experience. Position includes full medical, dental and vision care benefits, tuition remission after 3 years of employment, and a 403b matching program. This is an on-site position and we are looking for individuals living locally.
