Job Summary
The CTE Teacher is responsible for teaching the theoretical and practical concepts, strategies, and techniques associated with management and business principles, computer literacy, personal finance, accounting, computer programming, and coding within the Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTE) framework.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in a related field or must be able to obtain one.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of fundamental principles in the fields of management and business principles, computer, literacy, personal finance, accounting, computer programming and coding and employability skill development.
- Knowledge of instructional strategies that connect the curriculum to the learner.
- Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
- Time management skills for self and others
- Ability to differentiate instruction and assess student performance
- Demonstrated ability to work well with students, staff and parents in a professional manner.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Essential Duties included But Are Not Limited To
- Teaches students the fundamentals of Business including the applications and techniques commonly used in the industry.
- Instructs students using effective instructional strategies such as research projects, group discussions, cooperative learning, project and problem based learning.
- Prepares, administers, and grades test and assignments to evaluate students progress.
- Administers various types of assessments to monitor student's comprehension of content.
- Assists students as and advisor for CTE student organization.
- Works collaboratively with Middle/High School teachers to vertical align curriculum and best practices, were applicable.
- Effectively manages the learning environment, so that it is conducive to learning.
- Coordinates parent/teacher and student/teacher conferences to review student performance, behavior and other issues.
- Performs various administrative duties such as taking attendance, organizing the classroom, and responding to emails and phone calls from parents, school administrators, and staff in a timely manner.
- Required to have prompt, regular attendance in person and be available to work on-site during regular business hours.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Principal and district level administration.
