Palm Beach International Academy (PBIA), in the heart of Wellington, FL, is seeking full- and part- time, in-person Middle and High School teachers/tutors. A PBIA educator is a dynamic and engaging facilitator, leading students through enriching and interactive learning experiences in PBIA’s Small Group or One-On-One Program. They are pivotal in intrapersonal, innovative pedagogical methods, within a collaborative and project-based learning environment while understanding the individual needs and interests of each student. Teachers/tutors report directly to the AD (Academic Director) overseeing their students and indirectly to the Head of School.
Essential Function:
1. Oversee a small group of diverse students in classroom management and appropriate behavior.
2. Guide students through comprehensive learning experiences, stimulating active participation and deep immersion in subject matter.
3. Maintain an engaging presence to keep students immersed and attentive, fostering a lively and energetic learning atmosphere.
4. Understand each student’s Academic Plan and each program being used.
5. Create a vibrant classroom atmosphere, blending discussions, research projects, and feedback sessions seamlessly.
6. Tailor teaching methods to suit various learning styles and academic levels, both virtually and physically using various pedagogical approaches.
7. Encourage active participation and collaboration among students.
8. Understand each student’s levels, learning styles and interests to create and oversee supplemental projects and classes.
9. Maintain patience and empathy, while being committed to holistic student growth, ensuring each educational hour is productive and dynamic.
10. Create comprehensive narrative reports, detailing each student’s processes, challenges, and successes.
11. Collaborate with administration and other faculty to design and implement consistent and appropriate topics, projects and experiences.

Qualifications

2. Bachelor’s degree/certification in education or a related field.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is an exempt, regular full-time or part-time position with a 10-month (August-May) calendar period and appropriate breaks during the school year. Hours are typically Monday-Friday, 8:00-4:30, and often require work after hours.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
