Job Title: Middle School Civics Teacher
Location: Fort Myers, FL
Start Date: 2026-2027

Nova Classical STEM Academy is seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Civics Teacher to join our instructional team. The successful candidate will provide engaging, standards-aligned instruction in Florida Civics, foster critical thinking and civic responsibility, and support student success within a classical education and STEM-focused learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality Civics instruction aligned with Florida state standards
• Prepare students for the Florida Statewide Civics Assessment (Civics EOC)
• Develop lesson plans that promote civic knowledge, critical thinking, and discussion
• Use assessment data to monitor student progress and guide instruction
• Maintain a structured, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and school staff
• Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives
• Comply with all school policies, charter requirements, and Florida education laws

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid Florida Educator Certificate in Social Science (5–9 or 6–12) or eligibility for certification
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• Knowledge of Florida Civics standards and state assessment requirements
• Ability to meet all Florida background screening and fingerprinting requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching Florida Civics and preparing students for the Civics EOC
• Middle school teaching experience
• Experience in a classical education environment
• Strong classroom management and instructional planning skills
