Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School Math Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate believes all students can achieve at high levels in mathematics, implements strong instruction daily, and fosters a joyful learning culture built around student thinking, data-driven decisions, and growth.

You will join a supportive math team and receive ongoing coaching, professional development, and structured curriculum resources aligned to Oklahoma Academic Standards and our district mathematics blueprint.

Key Responsibilities

Teach Strong, Engaging Math Lessons

• Teach daily math lessons that build deep understanding and strong skills
• Use a clear lesson structure that includes warm-ups, modeling, guided practice, and independent work
• Make thinking visible for students — using examples, visuals, math language, and real-world connections
• Build student confidence and joy in math through practice, discussion, and problem-solving

Create a Positive, Structured Classroom

• Set and maintain consistent routines and expectations
• Build a classroom where all students feel safe, respected, and motivated
• Encourage students to talk about their thinking, work together, and take academic risks
• Celebrate effort, progress, and excellent thinking

Monitor Student Learning

• Check student understanding throughout each lesson
• Review daily student work and use it to adjust teaching
• Communicate expectations clearly and support students in meeting them
• Use school assessments (exit tickets, quizzes, and MAP Growth) to identify strengths and needs

Support All Students

• Provide extra support to students who need help catching up or strengthening skills
• Work closely with intervention staff to meet the needs of students who need more intensive help
• Ensure all students have what they need to learn and grow

Collaborate & Grow

• Work in partnership with teammates, coaches, and leaders
• Participate in planning meetings and professional development
• Reflect on practice and be open to coaching and feedback
• Help build a positive, mission-driven school culture

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree
• Belief that all students can achieve at high levels
• Commitment to implementing a structured instructional model and data-driven practices
• Growth-oriented mindset and willingness to receive coaching

Preferred

• Oklahoma teaching certification (or eligibility), Math endorsement preferred
• Experience in urban or bilingual school settings
