Responsibilities

  • Design and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards that cover key mathematical areas such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, and discrete math.
  • Utilize learning technology tools to enhance instruction and facilitate interactive classroom activities.
  • Assess student understanding through quizzes, standardized tests, projects, and formative assessments; provide timely feedback to support improvement.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive and respectful learning environment conducive to student success.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional design, and school-wide initiatives to promote best practices in math education.
  • Offer tutoring sessions or additional support for students needing extra help in areas like proofing mathematical work or understanding complex concepts such as differential equations or molecular biology applications in science integration.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities related to classroom management, special education strategies, or research-based teaching methods.
  • Engage with parents and guardians through conferences or communication channels to discuss student progress and address individual learning needs.

Experience

  • Prior classroom experience teaching middle school mathematics or related age groups is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in core mathematical disciplines including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, discrete math, and higher education teaching methods.
  • Familiarity with educational technology tools used for instruction and assessment purposes.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations and implementing special education accommodations when necessary.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex concepts like proofing or genetics to students of varying abilities.
  • Proven ability in lesson planning, curriculum development, and instructional design tailored for middle school learners.
  • Laboratory experience or research laboratory background is a plus for integrating science topics such as microbiology or biochemistry into math lessons.
  • Knowledge of standardized testing procedures and experience mentoring students through academic advising or private school settings is advantageous. Pay: $42,885.20 - $60,076.80 per year
