Middle School Mathematics Teacher

Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Middle School Mathematics Teacher to inspire and engage students in grades 6 through 9. This role involves delivering comprehensive math instruction, fostering a positive learning environment, and supporting students’ academic growth. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in various mathematical disciplines, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, and discrete math, while also demonstrating excellent communication skills and classroom management abilities. You will play a vital role in preparing students for future academic success by designing innovative lessons and utilizing cutting-edge learning technology.

Duties

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards across all middle school math subjects, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, and discrete mathematics.
• Utilize modern learning technology to enhance instruction and facilitate interactive learning experiences.
• Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing and project-based assessments.
• Provide individualized tutoring and mentoring to support diverse learning needs and promote academic excellence.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe, respectful, and productive environment conducive to learning.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional design, and school-wide initiatives.
• Participate in professional development opportunities related to higher education teaching methods, special education strategies, and research laboratory experiences when applicable.
• Engage in educational research to continually improve teaching practices and student outcomes.
• Support students’ social-emotional development through positive behavior management techniques and academic advising.
• Contribute to school administration efforts by assisting with library services, extracurricular activities, or other educational programs as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a related field; advanced degrees preferred.
• Proven classroom experience teaching middle school math or equivalent levels with demonstrated success in student engagement.
• Strong knowledge of mathematical concepts including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, differential equations, molecular biology (if applicable), microbiology (if applicable), cell biology (if applicable), organic chemistry (if applicable), biochemistry (if applicable), and proofing techniques for instructional materials.
• Experience with curriculum development, instructional design, lesson planning, and assessment strategies.
• Familiarity with working with students of varying abilities, including those requiring special education accommodations or behavioral management support.
• Proficiency in using learning technology tools to enhance classroom instruction and facilitate remote learning when necessary.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, students, parents, and administrators.
• Knowledge of standardized testing procedures and experience tutoring or mentoring students for academic success.
• Ability to manage a classroom effectively while fostering a positive learning environment rooted in respect and motivation.
• Prior experience working in private schools or Montessori settings is advantageous but not required. Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
