Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Middle School Mathematics Teacher to inspire and educate students in grades 6 through 8. Duties
- Design and implement innovative lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards that cater to diverse learning styles
- Deliver engaging instruction in core math topics such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, and discrete mathematics
- Develop and refine curriculum materials that incorporate current educational technology tools to enhance learning experiences
- Assess student progress through standardized testing, quizzes, projects, and formative assessments; provide constructive feedback
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects, school initiatives, and curriculum development efforts
- Provide tutoring and additional support to students requiring extra assistance in math concepts or test preparation
- Mentor students in academic advising sessions, fostering their interest in STEM fields and higher education pathways
- Participate in professional development opportunities related to research-based instructional design and special education strategies
- Engage with library services for resource development and stay current with scientific research relevant to mathematics education
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of mathematical disciplines including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, differential equations, discrete math, molecular biology, genetics, microbiology, biochemistry, organic chemistry, cell biology, and laboratory experience
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to motivate students and foster a collaborative learning environment
- Proficiency in instructional design and lesson planning tailored to middle school learners
- Experience working with students of varying abilities and implementing special education strategies when needed
- Familiarity with learning technology tools such as interactive whiteboards, educational software, and online assessment platforms
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, colleagues, and administration
- Ability to develop assessments aligned with standardized testing requirements; experience in tutoring for test preparation is a plus
- Demonstrated research skills applicable to scientific research or educational research initiatives
- Experience in higher education teaching or working within private school settings is desirable but not mandatory
- Strong organizational skills for managing multiple classes while maintaining detailed records of student progress
