<Responsibilities>

  • Design and implement innovative lesson plans that incorporate instructional design principles, learning technology, and differentiated teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs.
  • Facilitate engaging classroom experiences that include laboratory experiments, dissections, and scientific research projects to deepen understanding of topics such as cell biology, genetics, microbiology, biochemistry, organic chemistry, and molecular biology.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively through classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies to create a positive learning environment.
  • Assess student progress regularly using standardized testing methods and provide constructive feedback to support academic growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development initiatives that integrate higher education teaching methods and align with educational standards.
  • Mentor students through academic advising and tutoring sessions, fostering their interest in STEM fields and supporting their educational journey.
  • Maintain accurate records of lesson plans, student performance, and laboratory safety protocols while ensuring compliance with safety regulations during laboratory activities.

<Qualifications>

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education with a focus on Science or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications in science disciplines such as biology, chemistry, or physics are preferred.
  • Proven classroom experience working with middle school students in diverse educational settings; private school experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of science curriculum development across multiple disciplines including biology (cell biology, genetics), chemistry (organic chemistry), physics (geometry, trigonometry), and mathematics (algebra, calculus).
  • Laboratory experience with dissection techniques, microbiology procedures, research laboratory work, and safety protocols.
  • Familiarity with learning technology tools for instructional design and virtual learning environments.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective instruction, mentoring, and collaboration with staff and parents.
  • Ability to manage a classroom effectively while fostering an inclusive environment that supports special education needs when applicable.
  • Experience in standardized testing preparation, instructional planning, proofing educational materials, and working within educational administration frameworks. Pay: $42,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
